Danish Yorkshire is the second breed breed used in Danish Genetics’ cross-breeding programme. Danish Yorkshire is known as a good production breed on account of its good parenting skills and high fertility as well as good growth rate, low feed consumption, meat percentage and meat quality. The Yorkshire is therefore used as a mother sow for the well-known cross-bred (LY/YL) sow.
